Health and Safety

We pride ourselves on our rigorous adherence to all aspects of Health and Safety. Risk assessments, COSHH regulations, manual handling procedures, portable appliance testing and accident reporting are amongst the many areas we monitor to ensure full compliance with all aspects of Health and Safety legislation.

 

We have a written Health and Safety Policy, with full details of all the arrangements to ensure the health, safety and welfare of all our employees, and any other “persons” that may be affected by our activities.

 

From contract mobilisation, right through to running the contract, we consider all areas of Health and Safety to be high priority.  Prior to starting the contract, site specific risk assessments will be drawn up.  All staff affected by the assessments will receive training from day one – to ensure they are all aware of the requirements, enabling full compliance with our Health and Safety policy, and all legislation.  Site specific COSHH assessments are also completed, along with any specific assessments that are required (such as New & Expectant Mothers, Young Persons, Manual Handling, Display Screen Equipment etc).

 

Each employee is issued with a Health and Safety manual, and this advises them of their duties to ensure all staff, client staff and members of the public can carry out their tasks in a safe environment.  Ongoing training in relation to Health and Safety is passed onto our staff through various methods – such as flyers, newsletters, toolbox talks, group training sessions, external training courses etc.

 

Our Specialist & Window Cleaning Services Business Manager, Simon Howes, holds the NEBOSH Level 3 Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, and he is responsible for all specialist and window cleaning activities.  Simon is also a technician member of IOSH (TechIOSH).

 

Our Business Managers are trained to IOSH Managing Safely standard, and our Contract Managers have all successfully completed the CIEH Level 2 in Health and Safety.

 

Independent audits are carried out by our Business Compliance Department at our sites.  The audits assess our cleaning operation, site health and safety, training requirements and cleaning standards.  The reports of these audits are then passed to you, our client, to assist in the smooth running of all your cleaning operations.
