Due to the COVID-19, Monthind Clean has confirmed that our 2020 Charity Golf Day has been postponed and announced it has been rescheduled for October 22. We hope to see many of you there for another fantastic fundraising event, to help us raise vital funds for a brilliant cause. Thanks to the always generous support of our friends in the local business community, we are sure that will be the case.
Of course, missing a round of golf pales into insignificance in times like these. The true regret of postponing our golf day is that our chosen charity, Little Havens Hospice, which relies on donations to keep their vital services effective and free for children and their families, will have to wait a further six months to benefit from the event at a time when COVID-19 has had a huge impact on their fundraising.
Monthind has been supporting Little Havens since 2017 and is proud to have raised thousands of pounds during that time through a range of events and challenges from the National Three Peaks Challenge and 200-miles cycle rides to cake sales and, of course, our charity golf days. Our last Charity Golf Day alone, alone, in 2017, raised £5,500 to support the charity.
Little Havens is Essex’s only children’s hospice, providing care for children and young people who have been diagnosed with a complex or incurable condition. Working with the mission of making the journey as comfortable as possible for the child and their family, Little Havens provide overnight respite breaks, emergency stays, symptom management and care at the end of a child’s life.
“We don’t charge a penny for our care. And that’s only possible because of donations made by people like you. Your donation means we can continue ‘Making every day count’ for every child who needs us even during the Coronavirus outbreak.” Little Havens Website
