Monthind supports Time to Talk

Mental health problems affect at least one in four of us, yet we’re still reticent to talk about it. Time to Change encourages everyone to learn more about mental health, so they are better equipped to support others and to make conversations about issues and concerns.

Time to Change is led by Mind and Rethink Mental Illness and its annual Time to Talk day takes place on 7th February 2019. This year’s theme is “all about bringing together the right ingredients, to have a conversation about mental health. Whether that’s tea, biscuits and close friends or a room full of people challenging mental health stigma, we want you to get talking.”

Here at Monthind Holdings, we respond to our employees’ mental health needs the same way we do to physical conditions and we have a qualified Mental Health First Aider, our Health and Safety Officer, Chris Brown.

“We have always discouraged a workplace ethos of keeping quiet about mental health concerns. My door is open to staff, and I can listen without judgement and signpost to relevant support agencies and provide information on self-help strategies. It’s important for people to know they need never be alone to deal with mental health problems and Time to Talk is a great initiative, that Monthind fully supports.

“Staff wellbeing is crucial to Monthind’s success; we support our employees and empower our managers to do the same,” says Chris.
